Penetration method belongs to one of the non-destructive testing techniques. It is used to detect flat, narrow-slit surface discontinuities and leaks in welded joints. Penetration testing applies to all metals and their alloys and non-metals.

Penetration testing can be used to examine both semi-finished and finished products with varying degrees of complexity of shape (small and large).

Depending on the observation, testing takes place in white light (artificial or natural) or ultraviolet light. There are many solutions for the PT method.
